Following the Pahalgam terrorist incident that resulted in the deaths of 25 Indians and one Nepali on April 22, 2025, India initiated ‘Operation Sindoor’, a focused military campaign aimed at nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK)
Concerning Operation Sindoor:
Trigger: A terrorist assault in Pahalgam (J&K) associated with The Resistance Front (TRF), connected to Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The assault led to the deaths of 26 civilians, among them one foreign citizen. Signified the gravest assault on civilians since the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

Objectives: 9 terrorist training sites — 4 located in mainland Pakistan, 5 in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Militant organizations aimed at: Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul Mujahideen.
Executed by the Indian Air Force and Special Forces, steering clear of civilian areas and Pakistani military sites.
