Overview of the Crowdfunded Bridge on the Magai River:

Initiative: Residents of Kyampur Chhavni collaborated to raise funds and resources for the construction of a 105-foot bridge, overcoming years of bureaucratic delays.

Leadership: Ravindra Yadav, a retired Army engineer, invested ₹10 lakh from his retirement savings and offered his technical knowledge to the project.

Community Involvement: Donations varied from ₹100 in cash to the provision of materials such as cement, steel, and sand, along with manual labor contributed after regular work hours.

About the Magai River:

Location: The river traverses the districts of Azamgarh, Mau, and Ghazipur in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Source: It originates in the village of Dubawan, located in the Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh.

Tributary of: The Magai River is a tributary of the Tamsa River, which subsequently merges with the Ganges near the Ballia district.

Key Characteristics:

The Magai region is renowned for its cultivation of pan (betel) leaves.
