A section of the “Ring of Fire,” an area characterized by frequent seismic activity and volcanic eruptions.
Main Characteristics:
Elevation: 4,750 meters (15,584 feet) and the highest active volcano in Eurasia.
Eruption History: Initially documented in 1697 and has been nearly continuously active ever since.
UNESCO Status: An essential component of the World Heritage Site of Kamchatka's volcanoes.

Wooded lowlands host birch, larch, poplar, and willow trees.
