The government plans to establish a new Jungle Warfare School at Karreguta Hills in Bijapur (Chhattisgarh) — an area once dominated by Maoists — to train CRPF, DRG, CoBRA, and police forces from the state

Concerning the Jungle Warfare School:
What Are They?

Dedicated military and police training centers focused on instructing personnel in survival, mobility, and combat techniques in challenging forest and mountainous environments.
Deliver training in counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism, emphasizing asymmetric warfare within jungle settings.
Objective:
To improve the operational efficiency of security forces in areas impacted by Left-Wing Extremism (LWE).
Instruct staff on tactics for warfare specific to terrain, including ambushes, cave operations, and counter-guerrilla strategies.
Main Attributes:

Authentic Training Setting: Constructed in a genuine operational area (Karreguta Hills) featuring caves, waterfalls, and narrow valleys.
Multi-Force Involvement: CRPF, COBRA, STF, DRG, and local police forces trained collaboratively.
Modules include jungle navigation, survival techniques, counter-ambush tactics, cave-clearing drills, nighttime operations, intelligence collection, and IED identification.
