2nd National Seminar on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) at RGNUL, Punjab
The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR) and the Centre for Consumer Protection Law and Advocacy (CPLA) at RGNUL, Punjab, in collaboration with the Dr. PC Markanda Chair on ADR, convened the 2nd National Seminar on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in Consumer Protection in India on April 20, 2024. This prestigious event served as a platform for scholars, practitioners, and experts to delve into the evolving landscape of ADR and its intersection with consumer law, offering insights into contemporary dimensions and future prospects.
With four parallel technical sessions and a total of 35 papers presented, the seminar provided a comprehensive exploration of various themes within the realm of ADR and consumer law. Participants delved into topics such as online mediation and its trajectory, the integration of artificial intelligence in online dispute resolution mechanisms, and other pertinent issues shaping the ADR landscape.

The event commenced with a captivating glimpse into the regulatory framework of ADR, delivered by Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Jai Shankar Singh. This foundational overview set the stage for the subsequent discussions and highlighted the significance of ADR in the realm of consumer protection.
Following the Vice Chancellor's address, Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Anand Pawar and Dr. Gurmanpreet Kaur, Associate Professor of Law and Head Coordinator of the event, offered introductory remarks, emphasizing the importance of fostering dialogue and collaboration in advancing ADR practices in consumer protection.

The coordination and execution of the seminar were overseen by Dr. Sangeeta Taak, Dr. Ankit Srivastava, and Dr. Wazida Rehman, whose dedication ensured the seamless orchestration of the event's proceedings.
