CLAT 2026 results declared, nearly 96% attendance recorded

The national law entrance exam recorded high participation nationwide, with the consortium completing evaluation and approvals before publishing results and scorecards for undergraduate and postgraduate candidates.

CLAT 2026 results declared, nearly 96% attendance recorded

The Consortium of National Law Universities announced the CLAT 2026 results, making scorecards available on its official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in, after completing evaluation and approval procedures.

The national law entrance examination was held on Dec 7 at 126 centers across 25 states and four Union Territories for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered by National Law Universities and affiliated institutions.

According to official data, 92,000 candidates registered for CLAT 2026. Of these, 75,009 appeared for the undergraduate test, and 17,335 took the postgraduate exam.

Overall attendance stood at nearly 96%, indicating continued strong interest in legal education.

Performance levels remained competitive. The highest score in the undergraduate category was 112.75, while the top postgraduate score was 104.25.

The Consortium also released center-wise and gender-based performance data, which showed strong outcomes from metropolitan cities including New Delhi and Bengaluru.

Female candidates accounted for about 57% of total test-takers, while male candidates made up roughly 43%.

Transgender candidates also appeared for the examination, reflecting broad participation across gender groups.

Officials said answer scripts were compiled and verified on Dec 14 and 15, following which the results were placed before the Consortium’s Governing Body for approval on Dec 16.

As per the notification, the undergraduate paper included five sections with 120 questions, though one question was withdrawn and evaluation was carried out for 119 marks.

The postgraduate paper also had 120 questions, with minor changes to the final answer key, and was similarly assessed out of 119 marks.

Candidates can check their results by visiting consortiumofnlus.ac.in, clicking on the CLAT 2026 result link, logging in with their registered mobile number and password, and downloading the scorecard for future reference.

With high attendance, competitive scores, and participation from across regions and genders, CLAT 2026 reinforced the sustained demand for law education.

The Consortium has advised candidates to keep track of upcoming counseling and admission schedules.
