CBSE launches Parenting Calendar for academic session 2026 to 27

The Central Board of Secondary Education has introduced the Parenting Calendar for the academic session 2026–27, aimed at strengthening collaboration between schools and parents and supporting student well-being.

The initiative builds on its rollout in the previous academic year and aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, focusing on creating structured engagement between families and educational institutions.

Officials said the updated calendar expands its scope with new strategies and activities designed to support students’ emotional, social, and academic development.

The latest edition includes teacher-led engagement activities and targeted psychosocial support measures, while also addressing challenges faced by parents in a changing academic environment.

New sections have been added to improve inclusivity and adaptability. These include modules on inclusion to promote awareness and equitable practices for diverse learners, as well as guidance on coping with changes related to evolving curricula and academic expectations.

The parenting workshops segment has also been expanded to incorporate a developmental approach, enabling schools to design age-appropriate and context-specific programs.

The calendar is intended to encourage stronger parent-child interaction and provide a structured framework for parents to engage in their child’s learning journey.

It is designed to help build a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes overall development and resilience among students.

The launch event saw participation from school principals, teachers, counselors, wellness educators, and parents, who were introduced to the framework and its implementation.

CBSE has urged affiliated schools to adopt the Parenting Calendar as part of their academic practices to strengthen the home-school partnership and enhance student support systems.
