The training sessions will equip educators with practical teaching tools and competency-based methods, ensuring smooth implementation of the skill education curriculum in middle schools across northern India starting Jan 5, 2026.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced a series of one-day Capacity Building Programs to prepare teachers for the mandatory Skill Education curriculum in middle schools.
Starting Jan 5, 2026, these in-person training sessions will be held at multiple locations across northern India, aiming to equip educators with the knowledge and techniques required to implement the skill-based curriculum for Classes 6–8 effectively.

Under Notification CBSE/SE/DIR/2025 dated Dec 31, 2025, the Board outlined face-to-face training at designated schools in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR.
The initiative forms part of CBSE’s broader effort to align with the National Education Policy 2020 and ensure that students gain meaningful exposure to vocational and practical skills from an early stage.
Training sessions will be held according to the following schedule:
January 5–6 – Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh: Little Flower House (Jan 5) and Sunbeam Suncity (Jan 6) will host the initial sessions with local coordinators assisting with registration.
January 7 – Haryana and Lucknow: Gateway International School (Sonipat), PIET Sanskriti Senior Secondary School (Panipat), RBSM Public School (Gurugram), and Lucknow Public School, Ashiyana will conduct sessions for teachers from their respective regions.
January 8–10 – Delhi-NCR and surrounding areas: Delhi Public School (Greater Faridabad), Mount Abu School (Rohini), and a group of schools in Modinagar, Ghaziabad, and Greater Noida will conclude the first phase of training.
School principals and educators from all CBSE-affiliated institutions are asked to coordinate with venue contacts to complete registrations.
The program will emphasize the Kaushal Bodh activity series, competency-based materials developed by NCERT, designed to support teachers in delivering skill education modules effectively at the middle school level.
CBSE highlighted that the training represents a key step toward moving away from rote learning and toward a skill-oriented, competency-based educational framework.

“By training teachers ahead of the curriculum’s compulsory implementation, the Board aims to ensure smooth delivery of practical learning modules that echo the principles of NEP 2020,” the Board said.
With the training series beginning in early January, educators will soon be better prepared to integrate skill-based activities into their classrooms.
Schools and teachers are encouraged to complete registrations promptly and access full details on the official CBSE Academic website or through the Department of Skill Education.
