CBSE announces CTET 2026 re test after February exam cancellation at two Bihar centers

The Central Board of Secondary Education has scheduled a re-examination for select candidates whose Central Teacher Eligibility Test in February 2026 was canceled at two centers in the Vaishali district of Bihar.

According to an official notice, candidates assigned to 125016 St John’s Academy, Basmati Nagar, and 125014 Lakshya International Academy in Hajipur were unable to take the test on Feb 7 and 8 due to “unavoidable circumstances.” The re-examination will now be conducted on March 1.

CBSE said that updated admit cards will be issued to affected candidates through their application login accounts on the official website, ctet.nic.in.

“All the candidates who were allotted the above centers are hereby informed to download the revised admit card from their application log-in through the CTET website, i.e., ctet.nic.in, and appear in the examination accordingly,” the notice said.

The board clarified that only those candidates specifically mentioned in the notification are eligible to appear for the re-test.

It added that no additional opportunity will be provided in the 21st edition of CTET and that requests for changes in examination center or date will not be considered under any circumstances.

The director of CTET under CBSE issued the revised schedule following the decision to reconduct the examination for the impacted candidates.

In the next phase of the process, CBSE will release the provisional answer keys for CTET 2026 along with scanned images of candidates’ OMR answer sheets. Once published, both the answer keys and response sheets will be accessible on ctet.nic.in for review.

Candidates have been advised to regularly check official CTET communication channels for updates on reporting time and other examination-related instructions.

CTET serves as a qualifying examination for individuals seeking teaching positions in central government schools and institutions that recognize CTET scores.
