CAT 2026 registration ends today: Check application fee, eligibility and exam schedule

IIM Indore will close the registration window for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 on Sept 15, at 5 pm. Candidates who have not yet submitted their applications must complete the process through the official website, iimcat.ac.in, before the deadline.

No applications will be accepted once the registration window closes. Candidates should also ensure that the application fee is paid before the deadline for their registration to be considered complete.

After registration ends, the exam authorities will provide a brief correction window for candidates who successfully registered and paid the required fee.

During this period, applicants will be allowed to make changes to select details, including their photograph, signature and preferred test cities.

CAT 2026 exam date and pattern

The CAT 2026 examination is scheduled for Nov 29, 2026. The test will be conducted in three sessions across approximately 170 cities.

The examination will include three sections:

• Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
• Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
• Quantitative Ability

Candidates will have 120 minutes to complete the examination.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants from the General, EWS and NC-OBC categories must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA. Candidates from the SC, ST and PwBD categories need a minimum of 45% marks.

Students currently in the final year of their bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification can also apply. Those who have completed their degree requirements but are awaiting their results are eligible as well.

Application fee

The application fee for candidates from the SC, ST and PwBD categories is ₹1,350. All other candidates are required to pay ₹2,700.

The fee can be paid online through UPI, credit card, debit card or net banking. Once paid, the application fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Documents required

Candidates should keep the following documents ready while completing their CAT 2026 registration:

• Class 10 and 12 marksheets
• Caste certificate, if applicable
• PwD certificate, if applicable
• Scribe certificate, if applicable
• Scanned passport-size photograph
• Scanned signature
• Graduation marksheets or certificate

Candidates must complete the registration and fee payment process before the Sept 15 deadline to appear for the examination.

The CAT 2026 admit card will be available for download from Nov 4, 2026, onwards.
