Dara Khosrowshahi says engineers built his AI clone — and warns that even top executives could be replaceable.

Artificial intelligence is no longer just a threat to entry-level jobs. According to Dara Khosrowshahi, even CEOs may not be safe.
The Uber chief executive has revealed that engineers at the company created his AI clone, called “Dara AI”. The tool is currently used by teams to practise presentations before meeting him.

Speaking on the The Diary of a CEO, Khosrowshahi explained that employees present to the AI version of him as preparation. It is not meant to replace him — at least not yet — but the idea raises bigger questions about how far AI can go.
When asked whether AI could eventually replace executives, Khosrowshahi did not rule it out. He said that once AI models can learn in real time, “we are all replaceable.”
Other tech leaders have made similar remarks. At the India AI Impact Summit, Sam Altman said AI could one day do a better job as CEO than humans. Sundar Pichai of Google has also suggested that the CEO role may be easier for AI than many expect.
Uber already uses AI heavily in its ride-hailing business. The company has also launched an AI Solutions division that helps train AI systems for clients.
Khosrowshahi said AI will influence hiring decisions. If AI makes engineers more productive, he may hire more of them. But beyond a point, he suggested it may make more sense to invest in AI agents and buy more GPUs from Nvidia instead of expanding headcount.
His message is direct: in the age of AI, no position — not even the CEO’s — is guaranteed.
