Through ‘Airbus Beyond Programs’ Indian Institute of Management-Mumbai (IIM-M) will offer short term aviation courses in the areas of aviation logistics, supply chain management, operations excellence, cargo handling, strategic procurement, business analytics and digitization.
European aviation giant, Airbus has signed a pact with IIM-Mumbai under which it is set to provide aviation training to professionals aimed to make them industry-ready skills.
Through ‘Airbus Beyond Programs’ Indian Institute of Management-Mumbai (IIM-M) will offer short term aviation courses in the areas of aviation logistics, supply chain management, operations excellence, cargo handling, strategic procurement, business analytics and digitization.
Terming the partnership as first-of-its-kind strategic collaboration, Manoj K Tiwari, Director, IIM Mumbai said, “This collaboration marks a significant stride towards fostering excellence in management development within the aviation sector. Together, we aim to blend academic rigour with industry expertise, propelling innovation and leadership in aviation management.”
He expressed confidence that this collaboration will immensely benefit professionals in the aviation sector and those seeking opportunities in India's burgeoning aviation industry, providing them with invaluable skills and insights to excel in this exciting field.
Under the collaboration, IIM Mumbai will provide courses, manage student enrolment, and offer infrastructure and logistical assistance, while Airbus will contribute instructors and training materials from its Airbus Beyond catalogue for short-term courses initially.
Later, Airbus will collaborate on designing long-term courses and certify their instructors.
“Through this partnership with IIM-Mumbai, we are combining our expertise and resources to create comprehensive programmes that will help advance the future of aerospace education and skilling in India,” said Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director, Airbus India and South Asia.
“This will further support in creating a strong pipeline of industry-ready talent for the aviation sector in the country,” Mailard added.
Airbus Beyond is an Airbus company that empowers professionals for aerospace industry challenges. The programs are designed to enhance capability building at both executive and frontline level.
