The Islamic State group has taken responsibility for the recent attack on Moscow’s Crocus City Hall, as reported on their affiliated social media channels. The assault, which took place on Friday, has resulted in the death of 93 individuals, according to Russia’s Investigative Committee. This makes it the most lethal attack in the capital region in over a decade.

Several gunmen, dressed in camouflage, initiated the attack at the well-attended concert on the outskirts of Moscow. The incident has left more than a hundred people injured. Global leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have expressed their condemnation of the attack.

In the aftermath of the attack, 11 individuals have been detained, as reported by the head of Russia’s Federal Security Service to President Vladimir Putin. This information was relayed by the Russian state news agency, TASS.

President Putin expressed his gratitude to the medical professionals attending to the injured. He wished for their speedy recovery, as reported by state media TASS, quoting a Russian government official. The official referred to was Tatiana Golikova, the deputy prime minister for social policy, labor, health, and pension provision.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his condemnation of the “heinous terrorist attack” in Moscow, stated that “India stands in solidarity with the government and people of Russia in this hour of grief.”
