BPSC 72nd CCE prelims scheduled for Oct 25, commission releases updated exam calendar

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has scheduled the 72nd Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) Preliminary Examination for Oct 25, 2026. The exam was earlier scheduled for July 26.

BPSC released the revised date in its updated examination calendar dated Aug 14, 2026. The calendar also provides tentative schedules for various recruitment examinations, written tests, interviews and results.

The 72nd CCE recruitment is being conducted for 1,189 vacancies. The commission has not yet announced dates for the preliminary examination result, mains examination or interview.

BPSC has clarified that all dates listed in the calendar are tentative and may be changed. Candidates have been advised to follow official notifications for any revisions.

The 72nd CCE Preliminary Examination will be conducted on Oct 25, 2026, for 1,189 vacancies.

The commission has not specified the timeline for the preliminary result or the subsequent mains and interview stages. Separate notifications will provide details about these stages.

The 71st Integrated Combined Competitive Examination Preliminary Examination was conducted on Sept 13, 2025.

According to the updated calendar, the 71st CCE mains examination was scheduled for April 2026. Its result is expected between August and September 2026, while interviews are scheduled for September 2026.

The updated calendar includes schedules for several other recruitment examinations.

The Auditor Preliminary Examination under the Panchayati Raj Department was held on July 5, 2026, for 102 vacancies. Its result is scheduled for August.

The Research Officer Preliminary Examination under the Revenue Department was conducted on July 15 for three vacancies. Its result is scheduled for August 2026.

The Prosecution Officer Preliminary Examination was also held on July 15. The recruitment is being conducted for 300 vacancies, with the result scheduled for September 2026.

The Project Manager Preliminary Examination under the Industry Department is scheduled for Oct 4, 2026, for nine vacancies.

The 33rd Bihar Judicial Services Preliminary Examination was conducted on May 30 for 173 vacancies. Further dates have not been finalized, and the recruitment process remains subject to Supreme Court stay orders.

The Lower Division Clerk Preliminary Examination was held on Sept 20, 2025. The calendar lists the typing test for January 2026, while the date of the final result is yet to be decided.

The BPSC calendar also covers recruitments conducted through written examinations followed by interviews. These include Assistant Professor in Physics, Assistant Curator, Research and Publication Officer, Assistant Director and Lecturer in Mining Engineering posts in government polytechnic and government women’s polytechnic institutions.

For recruitments where written examinations and interviews have already been completed, the commission has provided expected or announced dates for the final results.

The schedule also covers recruitments under departments and organizations including the Bihar State Pollution Control Board, Labour Resources Department and Food and Consumer Protection Department.

The updated calendar includes examinations conducted under different selection patterns. These include three-stage recruitment involving preliminary, mains and interview stages, two-stage recruitment involving preliminary and mains examinations, written-test-only recruitment and selections based only on interviews.

Recruitments listed in the calendar include Assistant Section Officer, Assistant Education Development Officer, TRE 4.0, Assistant Professor, Boiler Inspector, Factory Inspector and Assistant Engineer, among others.

Several examinations have been marked TBD, or To Be Decided. Some recruitment processes are also affected by court orders, departmental directions, document verification and other administrative requirements.

The BPSC has advised candidates to treat all dates in the calendar as tentative and regularly check the commission’s official website for detailed notifications, examination schedules and further updates.
