Iran warns Trump “beware lest you be eliminated” after his remarks on Mojtaba Khamenei

Tensions between United States and Iran escalated sharply after a senior Iranian official warned US President Donald Trump saying him to “beware lest you be eliminated” following his comments about Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

The warning was issued by Ali Larijani, a top Iranian security official, who responded to Trump’s recent criticism of Iran’s leadership. In a message posted on social media, Larijani dismissed Trump’s remarks as empty threats and said even more powerful leaders had failed to defeat Iran.

“Even those greater than you could not eliminate Iran… watch out for yourself, lest you be eliminated,” Larijani wrote in the message, addressing the US president directly.

Trump had earlier warned that Iran’s new leadership could face serious consequences if tensions with Washington continue to escalate. His remarks came days after Mojtaba Khamenei assumed the role of Iran’s supreme leader following the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, during the ongoing conflict in the region.

The exchange marks the latest escalation in rhetoric between the two countries amid the expanding US-Israel-Iran conflict across the Middle East. The war has already seen missile strikes, drone attacks and military operations across several countries in the region.

The situation has also raised global concerns about security in the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial shipping route for global oil supplies. Any disruption in the waterway could affect energy markets and fuel prices worldwide.

With both sides exchanging threats and military activity intensifying across the region, international leaders have renewed calls for restraint and diplomatic engagement to prevent the crisis from expanding into a wider regional war.
