Earlier in the day, Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi alleged that she was approached by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to join their party.
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh in a case related to irregularities in excise policy. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had filed a chargesheet against Singh, a Rajya Sabha MP, who was arrested on October 4 after a 10-hour search at his North Avenue residence. The ED alleged that Singh played a crucial role in formulating and implementing the policy, which financially benefited certain liquor manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers.
Earlier in the day, Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi alleged that she was approached by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to join their party. She claimed that the BJP threatened her with arrest by the ED within a month if she did not join the party. She also stated that the BJP, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, intended to overthrow and dismantle the AAP. Despite these threats, Atishi asserted that the party is not intimidated and will continue its work.
Despite Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal being sent to judicial custody until April 15, the AAP maintains that he will retain his position as Chief Minister. Kejriwal has been governing Delhi from jail, with his orders being passed to the Cabinet by Sunita. Following the Rouse Avenue Court's decision to provide no relief to Kejriwal in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam on Monday, he has been detained in Tihar jail number 2.
