Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak is facing the possibility of arrest in Punjab after two FIRs were registered against him under non-bailable sections, according to reports.
Pathak, who recently switched from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), left his official residence in New Delhi on May 2 amid concerns over imminent police action.

According to reports, the FIRs have been filed in two separate districts of Punjab. The charges are said to fall under non-bailable provisions, indicating the seriousness of the allegations, though detailed information about the cases has not yet been made public.
Sources said a Punjab Police team had reached Pathak’s Delhi residence, but he reportedly exited the premises through a rear door before their arrival.
Pathak is among seven Rajya Sabha MPs who recently resigned from AAP and joined the BJP, a move that has significantly altered the political landscape in the Upper House.
The timing of the FIRs has triggered political reactions, with the BJP alleging “vendetta politics” by the AAP-led Punjab government, while opposition parties have raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the cases.
So far, there has been no official statement from Pathak or the Punjab Police detailing the nature of the allegations. The situation remains fluid, with further developments expected as the investigation progresses.
