The Indian Election Commission has extended an invitation to 75 international observers from the election management bodies (EMBs) of 23 different countries to witness the unfolding of the world's largest democratic exercise.
The commission highlighted that this initiative is unprecedented in terms of the scale and extent of participation. The invited observers hail from a diverse range of EMBs and organizations from 23 countries, including Bhutan, Mongolia, Australia, Madagascar, Fiji, Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Moldova, Tunisia, Seychelles, Cambodia, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Chile, Uzbekistan, Maldives, Papua New Guinea, and Namibia.

In addition to these countries, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and media teams from Bhutan and Israel will also be in attendance.
The Indian electoral body emphasized that this initiative underscores its commitment to conducting general elections of the highest standards, providing a unique opportunity for the EMBs to experience the excellence of democracy first-hand.
The Indian Election Commission continues to promote international cooperation by organizing the Election Visitors' Programme (IEVP) during the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024, according to a statement from the ECI.
The program, which commences on May 4, aims to acquaint foreign EMBs with the intricacies of India's electoral system and the best practices employed by the world's largest democracy, as per the ECI.
