The driver was allegedly taken to the family’s bungalow, where the grandfather and the minor’s father snatched his mobile phone and confined him.
The father of the accused 17-year-old boy involved in the Pune Porsche accident case being brought to the Crime Branch by the Pune Police officials after being arrested in an alleged abduction case, at Yerwada Jail in Pune.
The Pune police recently arrested the grandfather and father of a 17-year-old minor involved in a fatal accident with his Porsche in Pune city.
The family driver was coerced into falsely confessing to the accident.
The driver had been confined in their bungalow from May 19 to May 20, during which time he was pressured to take the blame for the incident.
Both the grandfather and father now face charges under IPC sections 365 (kidnapping) and 368 (wrongful confinement). The teenager's father, Vishal Agarwal, has also been implicated in the case.
“Post the accident, the teen’s grandfather and father allegedly took the driver’s phone, and put him in confinement in his house on the premises of their bungalow from May 19 to May 20. The driver was freed by his wife,” said an official from the crime branch.
In a separate development, the blood samples of the juvenile were replaced on the instructions of Dr. Taware and Dr. Halnor of Sassoon Hospital.
The father of the accused teen contacted the doctors and instructed them to replace the blood samples.
The accident occurred when the Porsche, allegedly driven by the teenager (who was reportedly intoxicated), collided with a motorcycle at high speed, resulting in the deaths of two motorbike-borne software engineers.
The teenager is currently in an observation home until June 5.
