Addressing an election rally in Gondiya Maharastra, Gandhi said Soybean and cotton growers in the state will get proper prices for their crop, while the poor will get health insurance if the Maha Vikas Aghadi government came to power.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Nov 12 said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi waived off ₹ 16 lakh crore in loans for a handful of industrialists but not a single farmer loan in 11 years.
Gandhi said that PM Modi belongs to Adani and Ambani.
“Modi attended Ambani’s wedding, but I didn’t go because I belong to you,” he added.
He announced that farmers in Maharashtra would get a proper price for their soybean and cotton produce if the Maha Vikas Aghadi government came to power in the state.
“Bharatiya Janata Party government in Maharashtra fails to provide fair prices for rice, soybean, and cotton in the state. Soybean and cotton growers in Maharashtra will get proper prices for their crop, while the poor will get health insurance if the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi’s government comes to power,” said Gandhi, while addressing an election campaign rally in Vidarbha’s Gondiya.
Launching a scathing attack on the BJP, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and PM Modi, Gandhi said, “The Constitution of the country embodies values that have stood for thousands of years. But if this red-bound Constitution is shown, Prime Minister Modi criticizes it.” he said.
“Nowhere in this Constitution does it say to kill people or oppress the poor and farmers. Prime Minister Modi has not even read this Constitution. The BJP, RSS, and Narendra Modi continuously attack and attempt to dismantle the Constitution given by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, while Congress fights to protect it.” he added.
Gandhi said that PM Modi often claims he belongs to the Other Backward Class (OBC) community, yet continuously disrespects it.
“Despite OBCs constituting 50% of the population, the Modi government allocates only 5% of funds to them, which is a true insult to the community. This is why Congress is determined to conduct a caste-based census and remove the 50% cap on reservations,” he said.
Gandhi said that the Congress has fulfilled the promises it made to the public and the MVA government will fulfill all the promises it has made in the manifesto.
