Massive fire broke out at Delhi's Kashmere Gate metro police station resulting in destruction of documents and other important items.
A massive blaze engulfed Kashmere Gate Metro police station in the early hours of June 1, leaving the facility in ruins with no casualties or injuries reported.
The fire, which consumed the office of the deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Metro, was reported to the Delhi Fire Department around 12:45 am on the intervening night of Friday-Saturday.

A total of 12 fire brigade vehicles were immediately dispatched to the scene to tackle the fire, which is said to have rapidly engulfed the police station, destroying everything in its wake including the record room to the cupboards, barracks, and files.
Many documents and other crucial items that were kept in at least 33 rooms.in the station have been destroyed.
According to an official, 15 rooms at the Kashmere Gate Metro police station and 18 rooms at the DCP (Metro) office caught fire. The fire also gutted beds and cots in the police barrack.
The cause of the fire remains unknown and will be determined following a thorough investigation, police said.
Earlier, on May 24, a minor fire was seen emanating from a Vaishali-bound train at Rajiv Chowk metro station.
The fire occurred due to a material getting caught between it and the overhead equipment for electrification, explained DMRC in a statement.
Recently, amidst a surge of fire incidents, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has directed all state-run and private health facilities to conduct a fire audit.
It also issued urgent preventative measures for the fire safety of buildings to be adopted by hospitals, schools, dispensaries and other MCD buildings.
