Eighth-grader from Nashik sets Guiness World Record for fastest mental addition

Aaryan Shukla, a student of class 8 in Delhi Public School Nashik, has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a Guinness World Record for the ‘fastest time to mentally add 50 five-digit numbers,’ in just 25.19 seconds.

Aaryan achieved this extraordinary accomplishment on the prestigious Italian TV show, 'Lo Show Dei Record,' in Milan, Italy, on February 29, 2024.

Aaryan exhibited exceptional precision and talent that gave him an edge over competitors from across the globe.

"Creating History! A monumental achievement by Aaryan Shukla of Grade 8 at DPS Nashik!" read the caption of the Instagram post shared by DPS Nashik. 

"Aaryan has officially created a new 'Guinness World Record' for the fastest time to mentally add 50 five-digit numbers, achieving an incredible 25.19 seconds on the set of Lo Show Dei Record in Milan, Italy, on 29 February 2024. A groundbreaking accomplishment and a testament to Aryan's exceptional talent!" the school added. 

Aaryan who is also called as 'Human Calculator,' has been immersed in the world of mental mathematics since the young age of six. 

Earlier, the mathematics prodigy had earned the title of 'World Champion' at the 2022 Mental Calculation World Cup held in Paderborn, Germany.

At the age of eight, Aaryan showed his prowess in mental calculation at the 'Memorial Turkey Open Championship – 2018' in Istanbul, Turkey where he received several medals which included 7 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals, along with setting two Kids World Records, reported India Today.

Aaryan also holds the record for the highest number of medals won in a single competition at Memorial.
Additionally, Aaryan is also a founding board member of the Global Mental Calculators Association (GMCA), a prestigious international body dedicated to promoting and advancing mental calculation prowess worldwide.
