Bomb Threats to Over 50 Schools in Delhi-NCR; Authorities Conduct Searches Across Campuses
Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena requested a detailed report from the Delhi Police Commissioner concerning reported bomb threats at schools in Delhi-NCR. The Lieutenant Governor also appealed to parents not to panic, assuring them that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
In a post on X, Saxena stated, “I have spoken to the Police Commissioner and requested a detailed report on the bomb threats at schools in Delhi-NCR.” He further directed the Delhi Police to conduct exhaustive searches in school premises, identify the culprits, and ensure no oversights occur.
“I urge parents not to panic and to cooperate with the administration in ensuring the safety of schools and children,” Saxena added. He reiterated that the culprits behind these threats will not go unpunished.
Earlier, Delhi Education Minister Atishi posted on X, “Some schools received bomb threats this morning. Students have been evacuated, and those premises are being searched by Delhi Police. So far, nothing has been found in any of the schools.”
She added, “We are in constant contact with the Police and the schools. We request parents and citizens not to panic.” The minister further assured that school authorities will maintain communication with parents as needed.
