Police recover 74 obscene videos; accused admits to using lighter-shaped hidden device for months.
A 31-year-old commercial pilot with a private airline has been arrested for allegedly filming obscene videos of women using a spy camera strapped to his toes in a bustling Delhi marketplace, police said.
The case surfaced after a woman, employed as a customer care representative, reported that a man had tried to record her using a lighter-shaped device concealed with a hidden camera while she shopped in Southwest Delhi.
Based on her complaint, Kishangarh police registered a case under provisions of voyeurism and stalking. Investigators scoured CCTV footage from the area and circulated the suspect’s image before local intelligence helped identify him as Mohit Priyadarshi, a resident of Kishangarh village.
Upon interrogation, Priyadarshi confessed to using the device since December 2023 to secretly record women in crowded places for what he termed “self-gratification.” Police said 74 objectionable videos were recovered from his mobile phone, along with the lighter-shaped spy camera.
“He admitted that he had been indulging in such acts for several months. The camera device has been seized and further investigation is underway,” said Amit Goel, DCP (Southwest).
