Complaint details abuse claims, property dispute angle as police begin multi-pronged probe.

A Congress leader in Bengaluru has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act following allegations that he assaulted the minor children of a woman he was reportedly in a relationship with, police said.
The accused, identified as Anand Naidu, serves as General Secretary of the Bengaluru North District Congress Committee (DCC). According to the police complaint, Naidu had been in a relationship with a married woman for the past three to four years.

The woman’s husband, who filed the complaint, alleged that tensions within the family escalated after their children questioned the nature of the relationship. He has accused Naidu of physically assaulting the minors, including biting them and striking their legs, hands and other parts of their bodies with an iron rod.
Police said the children have corroborated the allegations during initial inquiry.
A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Pocso Act, and an investigation is underway. Officials said they are recording statements and examining medical and other evidence as part of the probe.
The complaint also raises allegations of an unauthorized property transfer involving the woman and Naidu, which the husband claims was carried out without his consent. Police said this aspect is also being investigated alongside the assault charges.
Authorities have not made any arrests so far and said further action will depend on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
