Kumar claimed that Maliwal tried to "create a ruckus and assault" him after she "forcefully and unauthorisedly" entered the Delhi Chief Minister's residence on May 13.
In a new turn of events in Swati Maliwal assault case, Arvind Kejriwal’s PA, Bibhav Kumar, has filed a counter-complaint against her alleging her of unauthorized entry, verbal abuse, and threats and the possibility of BJP hand behind the matter.
Kumar claimed that Maliwal tried to "create a ruckus and assault" him after she "forcefully and unauthorizedly" entered the Delhi Chief Minister's residence on May 13.
Meanwhile, Maliwal has alleged that the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's residence were being tampered with.
According to the complaint lodged by Kumar, Maliwal, the former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), reportedly "forcefully and illegally trespassed" into the chief minister residence despite objections from the chief minister's security and staff, an NDTV report said.
Kumar claimed that Maliwal, also an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP, upon being asked to take an appointment with the chief minister, hurled abuses at him and disregarded the security protocol.
"Maliwal started screaming and shouting, hurling abuses, and questioning the authority of the security personnel," stated Kumar in the complaint.
"Her motives were suspect, and she intended to harm the Hon'ble chief minister," the complaint stated. Reportedly, Maliwal made threats against Kumar, stating, "Main tujhe dekh lungi...main tujhe aese joothe case mei fasaungi ki tujhe zindagi bhar jail mei sadah dungi" ("I will make sure you face consequences; I will ensure you rot in jail for life"), as reported by NDTV.
Kumar filed complaint against Maliwal after an FIR was lodged against him, based on the complaint of former DCW chiefl who accused him of assaulting her at chief minister's residence.
Following Kumar’s complaint, Maliwal took to X on Friday evening, saying "I have received information that now these people are tampering with the CCTV of the house." She also tagged Delhi Police in her post.
Earlier, the FIR against Kumar revealed shocking details of the incident where Maliwal alleged that Kejriwal's personal secretary "slapped" her "at least seven to eight times" while she "continued screaming" and "brutally dragged" her while "kicking" her in her “chest, stomach and pelvis area.”
The FIR was filed under IPC Sections 308 (Attempt to commit culpable homicide), 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint), 354B (Assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), and 509 (Word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
After a video clip surfaced on Friday which purportedly showed Maliwal abusing the security personnel at Delhi CM’s residence, AAP alleged that the whole incident was devised by BJP to frame Kejriwal.
The video, posted by a news channel, was shared by the party with a caption that read “Swati Maliwal ka sach (Swati Maliwal's truth).”
It showed Maliwal having an argument with the security personnel at the Chief Minister's residence.
This was the first time that AAP took a stand against Maliwal in the case, which was in contradiction to AAP MP Sanjay Singh's earlier statement in which he acknowledged that the assault did happen.
He had also said Arvind Kejriwal has taken cognizance of the incident, directing "strict action," and adding that the party is “with Swati Maliwal.”
Meanwhile, Maliwal has attacked her party, accusing it of saving a "gunda" (hitman) and indulging in her “character assassination.”
She also took a jibe at AAP’s Atishi who held a press conference on Friday alleging that Maliwal’s allegations are fabricated.
Maliwal further noted that while her party had initially accepted the assault against her, they have now taken a "U-turn" in the case. On Friday, Maliwal also recorded her statement at Delhi's Tis Hazari court.
