As Indian forces executed a high-impact precision strike on terror infrastructure across the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), T-72 tanks and BMP-2 armored vehicles surged to forward positions in a calibrated show of strength. The message was unambiguous: aggression will be met with unrelenting force.

Brigadier Mudit Mahajan, Commander of the Poonch Brigade, revealed on May 21 that the brigade played a central role in Operation Sindoor, an intense and strategic military retaliation following Pakistan’s unprovoked aggression and the Pahalgam terror attack.

“Poonch Brigade was not just a part of the operation—we were its heart. We didn’t wait to react; we prepared to respond,” Brigadier Mahajan declared.

According to official sources, six out of nine identified terrorist locations — opposite Poonch, Rajouri, and Akhnoor — were "effectively neutralized" by Indian forces on the night of May 6–7. The Army’s offensive initially focused solely on militant infrastructure. However, the mission escalated after the Pakistan Army began targeting civilian areas, prompting a shift in India’s military response to include Pakistani military assets.

Brigadier Mahajan emphasized the unmatched precision and purpose of the Indian response. “When the enemy escalated, we didn’t flinch. We hit back harder, and we hit where it hurt,” he said.

Sources revealed that the Indian Army deployed T-72 main battle tanks and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles as a preemptive reinforcement, moving them up to the LoC to both deter infiltration and respond to threats in real time. Some of these armored units engaged Pakistani posts believed to be actively facilitating terrorist movement into Jammu and Kashmir.

Another emerging threat — the use of drone swarms by Pakistan — was swiftly countered. “It was our air defense units that became the shield of the nation,” said Brigadier Mahajan. “Their performance — marked by resilience, skill and seamless coordination — neutralized every aerial threat.”

Pakistan’s losses, according to Indian Army intelligence, extended beyond the battlefield. “It’s not just about the numbers. We hit their morale, their initiative, their very capacity to escalate,” the Commander said.

Brigadier Mahajan confirmed that Operation Sindoor is not concluded, but only suspended temporarily. “Let there be no doubt — the Indian Army remains vigilant. Should we be challenged again, our response will be swift, fierce, and unforgiving. Not in words, but in the fire and resolve of a united nation.”
