The commission will send vacancy alerts to universities, professional bodies, and private institutions to ensure qualified candidates are informed about job openings matching their expertise and qualifications.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has rolled out a new email-based outreach initiative aimed at improving the visibility of its recruitment advertisements among institutions and eligible candidates.
To make its recruitment efforts more effective, UPSC will now send email alerts to universities, professional bodies, and recognized institutions about vacancies relevant to their areas of expertise.

Private institutions may also subscribe to this service by emailing a request to [email protected] with the subject line “Subscription Request – UPSC Recruitment Alerts.”
Dr Ajay Kumar, Chairman of UPSC, said, "Apart from our regular examinations, UPSC receives recruitment requests from multiple ministries and departments. To streamline and expedite the process, we're now ensuring that these requests are submitted well in advance, during a three-month window from January to March.”
“This allows us to club similar recruitment cases and conduct common tests, helping us complete the recruitment drive in a time-bound manner,” Kumar added.
Each year, UPSC handles over 200 recruitment proposals for Group A and Group B posts in various ministries and Union Territories.
In 2025, the Commission has already received more than 240 such proposals, covering positions in fields such as medicine, engineering, science, law, teaching, finance, accounting, management, and forensic audit.
Until now, UPSC has relied on platforms like Employment News, its official website, and LinkedIn to disseminate recruitment notices.
However, the commission has found that some posts receive a low number of applications, often leading to unfilled vacancies or cancelled interviews due to the lack of eligible candidates.
“We've observed disparities in the number of applications received for certain posts. Sometimes, due to a lack of eligible applicants, vacancies remain unfilled or become infructuous during the interview stage,” Dr Kumar said.

“To address this, we're introducing targeted outreach through email alerts to relevant institutions, ensuring that qualified candidates don't miss opportunities due to lack of information. These alerts will also be available to private institutions that request them,” he added.
As part of the new outreach plan, UPSC is also encouraging ministries and departments to promote job advertisements through their websites and social media platforms.
The Commission has already started sharing recruitment posts on LinkedIn and is working to expand its presence through the Public Broadcaster.
