Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla reviewed the ongoing implementation and key milestones of the Integrated Teacher Education Programme, a crucial NEP 2020 initiative to train highly qualified teachers.
Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla conducted a detailed review of the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), an important initiative under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, officials confirmed.
A Raj Bhavan spokesperson explained that ITEP is a comprehensive four-year undergraduate program with a dual-major structure aimed at preparing highly qualified teachers for all four levels of the newly introduced school system.
During the meeting, Commissioner of Education (School) H Gyan Prakash updated the governor on the current status and key achievements of the program’s implementation across Manipur.
In a separate session, the Governor evaluated the state’s progress under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), focusing on the TB Elimination Campaign, which forms part of India’s goal to become TB-free by 2025, a vision put forth by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The review involved an in-depth discussion of the campaign’s accomplishments so far, existing challenges, and the strategic measures needed to speed up progress.
Presentations were made by Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Health) Sumant Singh and other health department officials.
Additionally, family members of martyr Deepak Singh, a BSF Jawan, met with Governor Bhalla at Raj Bhavan to express their concerns and discuss welfare-related issues.
The governor listened attentively and assured them that Raj Bhavan would provide the necessary support.
