The five-day international programme offered students practical exposure to global manufacturing, supply chain management, sustainability, operational efficiency and cross-cultural business practices.

Vivekanand Business School (VBS) has organised a five-day Global Industry Immersion Programme in Thailand for 180 management students from different specialisations. The initiative aimed to provide students with practical insights into international business operations by combining industrial visits, academic interactions and cultural experiences.
The programme was designed to help students understand how global organisations implement management concepts, improve operational efficiency and address challenges in an increasingly interconnected business environment.

During the Thailand visit, students toured four prominent companies — Electrolux, Toyota, Yakult and Ichitan — to gain first-hand exposure to manufacturing processes, quality management, inventory planning and sustainable business practices.
At Electrolux, students explored lean inventory management and sustainable engineering practices. The visit to Toyota provided insights into the company's renowned Toyota Production System (TPS), including Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory management and production efficiency.
At Yakult, students learned about quality control procedures, hygiene standards and manufacturing practices in the food and beverage sector. The visit to Ichitan focused on automated production systems and environmentally conscious packaging solutions.
In addition to the industrial visits, students participated in a workshop at Bangkok University focusing on teaching and learning methodologies. The academic interaction provided an opportunity to understand international education practices and explore the importance of cross-cultural collaboration in global business environments.
Commenting on the initiative, Dr Sandeep Bhardwaj, Director, Vivekanand Business School, said that management education should extend beyond conventional classroom teaching and give students an understanding of how businesses function across different markets and cultural settings.
He emphasised that international industry exposure allows students to observe global business practices, understand operational challenges and learn from diverse professional perspectives. Such experiences, he added, help develop critical thinking, adaptability and problem-solving abilities that are essential for future business leaders.
Vivekanand Business School said the Global Industry Immersion Programme reflects its continued focus on experiential learning and practical management education. By connecting academic concepts with real-world industrial practices and international exposure, the institute aims to equip students to respond to changing business requirements and emerging global challenges.
Vivekanand Business School (VBS), based in Chembur, Mumbai, operates under Vivekanand Education Society. The institute offers a two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme with specialisations including Marketing, Human Resources, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, and Banking and Finance.
According to the institute's official website, its PGDM programme is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), and recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to an MBA degree.
