Delhi Traffic Police has announced diversions around Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium for Diljit Dosanjh's October 30 concert. With around 70,000 spectators expected, commuters have been advised to avoid affected roads and use public transport.

Diljit Dosanjh Delhi Concert Today
Traffic restrictions and diversions have been announced across parts of South Delhi on Friday, October 30, as Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh prepares to perform at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JLN Stadium) as part of his Aura India Tour 2026.
The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory warning of heavy congestion and restricted vehicle movement around the stadium from 1 PM to midnight. Commuters travelling through Lodhi Road, Bhishma Pitamah Marg, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg and surrounding areas have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and avoid affected stretches wherever possible. The concert is expected to attract approximately 70,000 spectators. To manage the anticipated crowd, authorities have arranged traffic diversions, additional security and extended Delhi Metro services.

Which Roads Will Be Affected by Diljit Dosanjh's Delhi Concert?
According to the Delhi Traffic Police advisory, traffic movement will be affected on several roads and stretches surrounding JLN Stadium.
The roads and areas commuters should avoid, wherever possible, include:
The restrictions are expected to affect regular commuters, office-goers and residents travelling through parts of South and Central Delhi. Traffic personnel will regulate vehicle movement at important intersections, with additional diversions possible depending on congestion.
Delhi Traffic Diversions: Six Main Points Identified
The Delhi Traffic Police has identified six main diversion points around the stadium, with two additional points available for activation if required.
At the Lodhi Road–Dayal Singh College Road intersection, vehicles will not be allowed to enter Dayal Singh College Road. Traffic moving straight along Lodhi Road will continue towards Lodhi Flyover and Aurobindo Marg.
At the Lala Lajpat Rai Marg–JLN Stadium Marg junction, vehicles will be diverted towards Lodhi Flyover instead of being allowed to enter the stadium road. Similar restrictions will apply to the slip road leading towards Soochna Bhawan.
At the JLN Stadium red light on Bhishma Pitamah Marg, vehicles approaching Stadium Gate No. 1 and Kotla Mubarakpur Flyover will face restrictions. They will instead be directed towards Mehar Chand Market in Lodhi Colony.
Another important diversion point is the Kushak Nallah Bus Depot traffic signal. Vehicles heading towards Stadium Gates 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 will not be permitted to proceed directly. Depending on their destination, motorists may be redirected through Fourth Avenue Road towards Lodhi Road or towards INA and Aurobindo Marg. Additional restrictions have also been planned near the Lodhi Colony Road–Fifth Avenue Road intersection.
Motorists should follow instructions from traffic personnel and road signage, as diversion arrangements may change depending on the movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
Delhi Metro Services Extended Until Midnight
With thousands of spectators expected to attend the concert, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced extended services for October 30. Metro services will operate until midnight on most lines, with the Airport Express Line excluded. The Rapid Metro, Gurugram, will not be covered by the extension.
DMRC will operate additional train trips across the network to help concertgoers return home after the performance. Standby trains will also be kept ready to manage unexpected increases in passenger traffic. The timings for purchasing QR tickets through the Delhi Metro Sarthi application have also been extended by one hour.
The nearest Metro station to the venue is JLN Stadium on the Violet Line. Passengers travelling on the Violet Line can also use Jangpura Metro Station to reach the stadium area. Those using the Yellow Line can get down at INA or Jor Bagh and continue towards the venue using designated transport arrangements.
Is Parking Available at JLN Stadium?
Concertgoers planning to travel by private vehicles should be aware that general public parking will not be available at or around the stadium. Limited parking facilities have been arranged for special invitees at Sunehri Pula Bus Depot and Dayal Singh College, according to media reports. Taxis, auto-rickshaws and app-based cabs will also face restrictions on stopping or parking along roads near the venue. Passengers have been advised to use designated pick-up and drop-off locations.
The reported drop-off points include:
Security Arrangements: Up to 2,000 Private Guards Expected
Apart from traffic management, security arrangements have been strengthened for the concert. Delhi Police required the organisers to arrange between 1,500 and 2,000 private security personnel to assist with crowd management, queue regulation, entry-gate management and pedestrian movement.
The security plan also includes a reported 700-metre no-car zone around the venue. The concert had initially faced permission-related concerns after Delhi Police raised security and crowd-management issues. Clearance was subsequently granted following discussions between the police and event organisers over traffic regulation, parking and security arrangements.
What Should Commuters Do?
Delhi Traffic Police has advised motorists to avoid roads surrounding JLN Stadium wherever possible and allow additional time for their journeys. People travelling to the concert are encouraged to use the Metro instead of private vehicles. Commuters should also follow diversion signs, cooperate with traffic personnel and avoid unauthorized roadside parking.
For traffic-related assistance, commuters can contact the Delhi Traffic Police helpline at 1095 or 011-25844444. The WhatsApp assistance number listed by Delhi Traffic Police is 8750871493. With traffic restrictions expected to remain in place until midnight, commuters travelling through Lodhi Road, Jangpura, Defence Colony and nearby areas should check the latest traffic updates before starting their journeys.
