As students worry about scoring high marks and navigating exam patterns, the CBSE Controller steps forward to address their most pressing questions for Class 10 and 12 exams.
The CBSE board exams are fast approaching, with around 44 lakh students preparing for the crucial tests starting on Feb 15.
As pressure mounts, many students are focused on achieving high marks and understanding the exam patterns.
In order to address these worries and offer clarification, Sanyam Bhardwaj, the Controller of Examination for the CBSE, has taken the initiative to respond to some of the most often asked queries by students in Class 10 and 12.
Bhardwaj reminds students that while academic success is vital, learning and character development are the real goals of education, not grades.
In order to assist students in successfully preparing for their board exams, Bhardwaj provides a number of proven strategies.
First, he emphasizes the importance of attending classes consistently, as teachers work diligently not only to prepare students academically but also to help them grow as well-rounded individuals.
Regular attendance is essential to fully benefit from their guidance.
Students are also advised to create a strategic study plan that covers the entire academic year and includes a focused preparation schedule for the final months.
This plan should be tailored to address individual strengths and weaknesses in various subjects.
Taking multiple mock tests is another crucial strategy; practice helps students gauge their performance, identify weak areas, and focus on improving them before the exams.
Additionally, practicing writing complete answers during revision is important for building confidence and enhancing retention, as it helps students become familiar with the exam format.
Studying CBSE sample papers is also highly recommended, as it allows students to familiarize themselves with time constraints and question patterns, ensuring they manage their time effectively during the actual exam.
Finally, Bhardwaj stresses the significance of maintaining good health and wellness.
Proper nutrition, regular exercise, and engaging in recreational activities are essential for staying balanced and focused during the intense exam preparation period.
The CBSE also offers a thorough marking system for every topic.
In mathematics, the marking scheme outlines specific steps required to solve each problem.
These steps, which are considered essential value points, must be included in the solution for it to be deemed correct.
Students should remember that marks are granted only if these key steps are demonstrated.
Bhardwaj highlights that whether a question is new or old is irrelevant if one has a thorough understanding of the subject.
Instead of worrying about repeating questions, students should concentrate on being well-prepared.
The purpose of the board exams is to evaluate the knowledge that students have acquired over the course of the academic year.
Students in Class 10 must receive 33% of the possible marks from both internal assessments and theory in order to pass.
The same 33% cutoff is applicable to both theory and practical tests for students in Class 12.
In order to help students meet the passing requirements, CBSE may grant grace marks if they are only one mark short.
Students can make sure they're ready for their impending tests by using these techniques and maintaining their focus.
