UPSC invites applications for 13 govt posts across legal, technical and medical fields

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has opened online applications for 13 government posts across technical, legal and medical fields under Advertisement No. 12/2026.

Eligible candidates can apply online through the UPSC application portal until October 16, 2026, at 6 pm. The recruitment drive includes positions in different departments, with vacancies ranging from legislative and legal work to technical and specialist medical roles.

Vacancy details

The 13 vacancies are distributed across four posts:

• Junior Technical Officer: 1
• Assistant Legislative Council: 8
• Law Officer: 3
• Specialist Grade II (Junior Scale): 1

Eligibility and qualifications

For the Junior Technical Officer post, candidates must hold a degree in Science or Engineering along with a postgraduate diploma in Sugar Technology from a recognised university. They must also have at least three years of relevant experience in teaching, research or advisory work in Sugar Technology.

Candidates applying for the Assistant Legislative Council posts must possess a law degree from a recognised university and meet the prescribed professional experience requirements. The role involves legislative drafting and scrutiny of statutory rules and orders.

For the Law Officer post, applicants must have a law degree from a recognised institution or university and at least two years of experience in legal work as a legal practitioner or in a government office.

Candidates applying for the Specialist Grade II (Junior Scale) post must possess a recognised medical qualification along with the prescribed postgraduate degree.

Selection process

Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on the information provided in their applications and their performance in the recruitment test, if conducted.

UPSC has advised applicants to ensure that all information submitted in the application form is accurate and supported by the required documents. If any information or claim is later found to be false or incorrect, the candidate's candidature may be rejected. The Commission may also debar such candidates either permanently or for a specified period.
