The commission recommends 958 candidates for appointment to IAS, IFS, and IPS after completing the three-stage selection process, with candidates from diverse academic backgrounds among the top ranks.

The Union Public Service Commission has announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2025, recommending 958 candidates for appointment to key services such as the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, and Indian Police Service. The results were declared on March 6.
Anuj Agnihotri secured the top position in the examination, obtaining All India Rank 1. He is a medical graduate with an MBBS degree from AIIMS Jodhpur and has opted for Medical Science as his optional subject.

Rajeshwari Suve M achieved the second rank. She graduated with a BE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Anna University in Chennai and selected Sociology as her optional subject.
Akansh Dhull placed third in the national ranking. A commerce graduate from the University of Delhi, he appeared for the examination with Commerce and Accountancy as his optional subjects.
Raghav Jhunjhunwala secured the fourth position. He completed his BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Delhi and chose Economics as his optional subject for the examination.
The fifth rank was obtained by Ishan Bhatnagar, who holds a BA LLB (Hons) degree from National Law University, Delhi. His optional subject in the examination was Sociology.
The Civil Services Preliminary Examination for 2025 was conducted on May 25, 2025. A total of 937,876 candidates submitted applications, and 576,793 candidates appeared for the exam.
From those who took the preliminary test, 14,161 candidates qualified for the Civil Services Main Examination, which was held in August 2025.
After the written examination stage, 2,736 candidates progressed to the personality test, which is the interview stage of the selection process.
Once the entire selection process was completed, the Commission recommended 958 candidates for appointment across the various services. The final list includes 659 men and 299 women.
The recommended candidates also include 42 persons with benchmark disabilities. This group consists of 10 candidates with orthopedic disabilities, 14 candidates with visual impairments, nine candidates with hearing impairments, and nine candidates with multiple disabilities.
