UP distributes 1 lakh study tables to government school students under Shiksha Ki Udaan

Uttar Pradesh has distributed one lakh study tables to government school students across the Devipatan division under the 'Shiksha Ki Udaan' campaign, aimed at providing children with a dedicated space to study at home.

The campaign covered Bahraich, Gonda, Balrampur and Shravasti districts. The study tables were provided to meritorious students of government schools, while girls enrolled in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas were also included among the beneficiaries.

Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal said the campaign's target of distributing one lakh study tables across the four districts had been achieved.

Bahraich recorded the highest distribution with 34,260 tables, followed by Gonda with 27,650, Balrampur with 26,984 and Shravasti with 11,106.

The initiative is intended to encourage regular and focused study at home, particularly among children from rural backgrounds who may not have a separate study area. The tables can be used for homework, revision and other academic work outside classroom hours.

Students who received the tables shared their experiences through handwritten letters, drawings and posters addressed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Several children decorated their letters with flowers and drew pictures of their new study spaces.

Swati, one of the beneficiaries, wrote that she was happy to receive a new study table and uses it every day for her studies. She also decorated her letter with flowers and drew a study table, book and pencil.

Class 6 student Saba wrote that studying at home had earlier been inconvenient, but the new table had made it easier for her to study.

Class 7 student Nuzhat Fatima prepared a 'Gratitude Letter' on blue chart paper. She wrote that the table had increased her interest in studies and helped her concentrate better while completing homework and revising lessons.

Students also used posters to express their appreciation and promote messages related to girls' education. One poster featured a portrait of Yogi Adityanath with the words "Beti Bachao" and "Beti Padhao," while another showed a student receiving a study table at a school gate.

The 'Shiksha Ki Udaan' campaign is focused on developing disciplined study habits and supporting academic performance among government school students.

“The initiative is aimed at promoting disciplined study habits and academic excellence among govt school students. Besides meritorious students, all girls enrolled in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas were also included as beneficiaries. The campaign will continue to encourage and support high-performing students in the future,” Nagpal said.
