The CM directed faster construction of residential schools, reviewed statewide meal proposals, and discussed curriculum revisions, skill development partnerships, and infrastructure upgrades during an education department review meeting.

The Telangana government is moving forward with plans to expand educational infrastructure and improve access for girls under the Young India Integrated Residential Schools initiative.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to prioritize the allocation of more residential schools for girls in the first phase of the program.

He set a three-year timeline to build one Young India Integrated Residential School each for boys and girls in every constituency. Boys’ schools will be taken up in the next phase in constituencies where girls’ schools are established first.
During a review meeting with the Education Department in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister instructed officials to expedite construction and ensure that each residential school is built on a minimum of 1.50 acres of land. He also directed the expansion of the Bachupally school to meet the prescribed land requirement.
The government is also examining the possibility of introducing breakfast and lunch programs across government schools in the state.
The Chief Minister reviewed meal initiatives run by non government organizations in the Kodangal Assembly constituency and asked officials to assess the feasibility of scaling similar models statewide.
Representatives of the Akshaya Patra Foundation conveyed their readiness to implement the program across Telangana, subject to availability of land and logistical support.
Officials were asked to plan centralized kitchens, with a proposal to establish one kitchen for every two constituencies.
Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao has been tasked with coordinating with district collectors to identify land, including the option of leasing two-acre plots for 99 years.
The Education Department has also been instructed to complete construction of 23 new school buildings in Greater Hyderabad by the next academic year while ensuring minimum infrastructure standards.
Officials were further directed to explore the use of solar kitchens under the PM KUSUM scheme.
Curriculum reforms were another focus area during the meeting. A proposal to revise the syllabus from Classes 1 to 10 was discussed to align learning outcomes with future skill requirements.
The Chief Minister also reviewed progress on the establishment of Veeranaari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University and asked officials to accelerate the process.
The meeting also covered the agreement with Tata Technologies for introducing new courses and upgrading infrastructure in polytechnic colleges.
The Chief Minister stressed that curriculum design and teaching methods should ensure students graduating from polytechnics and the Young India Skills University are equipped for employment.
Senior advisors, secretaries, and representatives from universities attended the meeting. Officials were directed to clear pending construction bills and ensure timely implementation of decisions.
The government said the measures are aimed at strengthening infrastructure, improving nutrition, updating curriculum, and promoting gender inclusion as part of Telangana’s broader education reforms.
