The CM urged students to prioritize learning, promised major development funding for the campus, and outlined reforms aimed at restoring Osmania University’s stature and strengthening opportunities for youth.

The Telangana government has renewed its focus on strengthening Osmania University, with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy using a campus address to urge students to stay away from political distractions and concentrate on academic and professional growth.
He said that young people should develop leadership abilities that can help them “grow as good leaders to rule the state.”

Reddy said he visited the university “with a heart full of admiration” and confirmed that the administration was moving ahead with its plan to allocate ₹1000 crore for campus development.
The funding aims to modernize facilities and elevate the institution to international standards.
The CM accused the previous BRS administration of neglecting the university, alleging that its leaders were “building farmhouses on hundreds of acres” while “not a single Dalit family was given 3 acres of land.”
He said Osmania University had a historic role in the Telangana movement, where students fought for freedom, equality, and social justice, “not farmhouses and lands.”
He also recalled the university’s legacy of shaping leaders such as PV Narasimha Rao, Jaipal Reddy, George Reddy, and Gaddar, noting that its contribution to Telangana’s socio-political history remains unmatched.
Responding to comments about his educational background, Reddy said he had studied in a government school and understood the challenges faced by marginalized groups.
He argued that “expertise in the English language does not mean possessing knowledge,” describing English as only a communication tool.
He reiterated that the government was committed to ensuring “freedom, social justice, and equal opportunities” and said the administration would “rescue Telangana from the evil forces.”
He highlighted recent measures such as declaring the Telangana song, installing the Telangana Talli statue, implementing SC categorization, and conducting the caste census.
Reddy outlined reforms, including integrated residential schools to eliminate caste discrimination.
He pointed to the establishment of the Young India Skills University, chaired by Anand Mahindra, to expand youth skill development.
He also mentioned the Young India Sports University, created with the aim of preparing athletes for the 2036 Olympics.

The CM said a committee had been formed for recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff at Osmania University.
He instructed officials to ensure transparent hiring with “no political obligation,” stating that no one should “spoil the future of children.”
He concluded that Osmania University remains central to Telangana’s identity and deserves a fair and supportive system that enables students to thrive.
