UK’s University of Sheffield announces £7,000 scholarship for international PG students

The University of Sheffield, UK will offer a £7,000 tuition fee reduction to eligible international students enrolling in postgraduate taught programs in September 2027 under its International Postgraduate Scholarship 2027.

Students will be considered automatically for the scholarship after receiving an eligible offer, and no separate scholarship application is required. To qualify, applicants must accept their University of Sheffield offer by 4 p.m. UK time on July 6, 2027.

The scholarship is open to eligible offer holders from India, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Nigeria, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye and Vietnam. Applicants must be permanent residents of, or have lived in, an eligible country or region for the past three years.

Candidates must be self-funded, classified as overseas students for tuition fee purposes and enrolled in a full-time postgraduate taught program that they complete at the University of Sheffield.

Postgraduate diplomas and certificates, online and distance-learning programs, Crossways and Erasmus Mundus programs, and courses carrying higher clinical fees are excluded from the scholarship. M-Arch programs are considered postgraduate taught programs and are eligible.

Students enrolled in two-year master's programs can receive the £7,000 scholarship in their second year, provided they successfully complete their first year. The award cannot be deferred to a later year of entry.

Students from the University of Sheffield International College can also qualify if they meet the remaining eligibility conditions. Funding will not be backdated to previous academic years, and students are responsible for ensuring they receive any funding for which they are eligible.

The scholarship generally cannot be combined with another University of Sheffield scholarship or tuition discount unless specifically permitted under the relevant terms. It also cannot normally be combined with full or partial external sponsorship, except repayable loans.

Where students qualify for more than one university scholarship or discount, the applicable terms will determine which award takes precedence.
