Officials have been instructed to barricade hazardous structures immediately, while the state plans nearly ₹550 crore in infrastructure projects during the 2026-27 financial year.

The Rajasthan government has launched a statewide safety audit of government school buildings, directing officials to immediately seal any classroom or structure found to be unsafe during inspections.
The directive was issued at a high-level review meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary (School Education) Rajesh Kumar Yadav at the state secretariat on June 30.

The initiative comes as the state steps up efforts to ensure students are not studying in buildings that pose safety risks.
According to officials, the inspection will cover every government school building currently in use, including those that have not previously been classified as dilapidated.
"Each building will undergo a detailed physical inspection to ensure compliance with all safety norms," Yadav said.
He instructed authorities to take immediate action if any classroom or school building is found unsafe, including closing access to the structure, barricading the area, and reporting the matter without delay. He also emphasized that student safety would remain the government's top priority.
During the meeting, Yadav reviewed the status of ongoing school construction and repair projects and directed officials to complete the work within the prescribed timelines while maintaining quality standards. He noted that financial approvals for the sanctioned projects have already been issued.
State government officials said more than 2,000 school infrastructure and development projects have been completed under the 2025-26 Budget.
For the 2026-27 fiscal year, Rajasthan has earmarked nearly ₹550 crore for additional infrastructure upgrades in government schools.
The government also plans to supplement funding through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, public contributions, and other sources to improve essential facilities across the state's schools.
The review meeting was attended by State Project Director and Commissioner Rashmi Sharma, Director of Elementary Education Sitaram Jat, and other senior officials.
