The initiative will focus on improving infrastructure, upgrading classrooms, and introducing modern teaching aids to strengthen learning conditions and expand access to better educational resources for students.

The Pune Municipal Corporation has unveiled a plan to convert 144 civic-run schools into model institutions under its education reform agenda for 2026 to 27.
The initiative is aimed at improving facilities and upgrading the learning environment across municipal schools in the city.

Officials said the program will focus on strengthening infrastructure, modernizing classrooms, and introducing updated teaching tools in selected schools managed by the civic body.
The effort is intended to improve the quality of academic delivery and provide students with better learning conditions.
As part of the plan, the identified schools will undergo infrastructure improvements and classroom upgrades to support current teaching methods.
Authorities said these changes will help create better equipped classrooms and expand access to improved educational resources for students studying in municipal schools.
The civic body also plans to introduce modern teaching aids to support classroom instruction. Officials believe the use of such tools will enhance the overall learning experience and help align school facilities with evolving educational requirements.
The initiative is part of the municipal administration’s broader strategy to strengthen public education and improve infrastructure across the civic school network in Pune.
Through the proposed transformation of 144 institutions, the corporation aims to develop more effective learning spaces and raise the standard of facilities available in municipal schools across the city.
