 JEE and NEET.

Bihar’s government school students are set to get a significant academic boost, with edtech giant Physics Wallah offering free coaching for the country’s toughest entrance exams — JEE and NEET.

Under a new agreement signed recently, the company will provide foundational to advanced-level training for students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas and Simultala Awasiya Vidyalayas. The support package includes interactive digital classes, AI-driven doubt-solving, practice tests, free access to Physics Wallah’s app, and regular performance tracking for students in classes 9 to 12.

The initiative is part of a wider drive by the state education department, which inked five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with academic and philanthropic organisations aimed at improving quality and expanding opportunities in Bihar’s classrooms.

Alongside Physics Wallah, Bharat Innovation Global will prepare Class 8 students for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship exam through live and recorded lessons in “Hinglish”, with a focus on rural and underprivileged children. Freedom Edu will roll out a “Holistic English Language Learning Program” to sharpen reading, comprehension, communication skills, and confidence among school students.

The Going to School Fund will introduce a two-day-a-week curriculum on life skills and entrepreneurship for Classes 7 to 12 — one day devoted to story-led activities, the next to digital projects. For higher education, the SGBS Unnati Foundation will deliver a 30-day job-oriented skill training for final-year undergraduates and postgraduates in government and aided colleges, supplemented by an e-learning platform offering 600+ videos and quizzes. The program aims to connect 70% of participants to jobs, self-employment, or further studies.

Education Minister Sunil Kumar said the partnerships reflect Bihar’s strong commitment to education, noting that over 20% of the state’s budget is devoted to the sector. “These collaborations will bring innovation and technology into our classrooms and open new doors for students,” he said, adding that monitoring and outcome-based evaluation will be ensured.

Additional Chief Secretary Dr. S Siddharth underlined the scale of the task: “Bihar has the largest number of students in the country. Providing them quality resources and competitive guidance is a priority. These partnerships will be a milestone in that direction.”
