NTA clarifies misleading social media posts regarding the handling of CUET-UG 2024 answer sheets.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has firmly dismissed allegations that it mishandled answer sheets for the Central University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2024.
"These boxes are empty and were placed outside the hall at NTA, containing no sensitive material. We have never left these boxes exposed as reported by the media. Additionally, we have a sufficient number of security personnel at the location where the boxes are stored," the agency clarified in a tweet on 'X' (formerly Twitter).
The CUET UG 2024 results are now anticipated to be delayed. Although the NTA's information bulletin initially indicated June 30 as the result announcement date, a senior official has stated that meeting this deadline is now improbable.
This response from NTA follows several social media posts alleging that CUET UG 2024 answer sheets were found unattended and unsealed at the NTA office, claims which have now been officially denied.
The clarification comes shortly after the NTA addressed another viral rumor suggesting that its website had been hacked. "The NTA website and all its web portals are fully secure. Any information regarding a compromise or hack is incorrect and misleading," the Agency confirmed via Twitter.
The NTA has faced multiple accusations from students and opposition parties regarding the NEET UG result controversy, as well as cancellations and postponements of other exams such as UGC NET, CSIR UGC NET, and NCET.
In related developments, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over investigations into alleged paper leaks in Bihar, Gujarat, and Jharkhand.
The CBI recently arrested two individuals from Patna who were allegedly involved in arranging accommodations for NEET-UG examinees on May 4, one day before the exam, where students supposedly memorized the solved papers.
