The internships are for high school and undergraduate students, providing hands-on experience in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and the opportunity to work with NASA experts.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Office of STEM Engagement (OSTEM) is offering paid internships for high school and undergraduate students, with registration occurring twice a year.
This internship will provide opportunities in non-engineering sectors as well as practical exposure in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
Students will also have the opportunity to work with NASA experts and support space initiatives.
The application deadline for summer internships is Feb 28, while the registration deadline for autumn 2025 internships is May 16.
Three different kinds of internships are offered under this program; one is for international students, and the others are for US citizens.
An applicant must be a citizen of the United States and enrolled full-time in high school through graduate school, or enrolled part-time in college for at least six semester hours.
The applicant must be a citizen of the United States and enrolled in a recognized school pursuing a degree or certificate. Before completing the prerequisites for a degree or certificate, she or he must have completed at least 15 semester hours or 23 quarter hours with 480 work hours.
The applicant must be a citizen of the nation with which NASA currently has a contract. A bachelor's or master's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) is required.
The internship possibilities are listed on the official NASA website at nasa.gov/learning-resources/internship-programs.
