The new diploma program, launching in June 2025, combines legal education with AI and technology, offering practical skills aimed at enhancing career opportunities for law students and professionals.
NALSAR University of Law has partnered with LawSikho to introduce a new diploma program that integrates legal education with artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
The course, titled Diploma in Future of Law: AI, Technology & Legal Practice, is scheduled to begin in June 2025 and is certified by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Skill India.
This outcome-driven program is designed to equip law students and professionals with practical, real-world skills aligned with the AI-powered transformation of the legal industry.
According to a press release, participants will gain hands-on experience by drafting more than 25 legal documents using AI tools, automating compliance processes, and building freelance profiles—skills aimed at creating direct income opportunities.
Professor Srikrishna Deva Rao, Vice-Chancellor of NALSAR, highlighted the growing importance of legal tech.
“The AI revolution is leading us to rethink notions of judicial understanding of creativity, rights and responsibilities, and justice delivery. The entire legal fraternity—lawyers, judges, companies, and law firms—must creatively engage with and learn from developments in legal tech to work toward responsible AI. We are delighted to partner with NSDC and LawSikho in offering this timely and relevant course,” he said.
Ramanuj Mukherjee, CEO of LawSikho, shared the platform’s success in helping learners achieve financial growth.
From April 2020 to March 2025, LawSikho facilitated over ₹43.41 crore (USD 5.2 million) in job and freelance work for its students.
The highest domestic income reported was ₹38 lakh per annum (USD 44,000), while international earnings reached up to ₹80 lakh per annum (USD 97,000).
He noted that this program represents a shift in legal education by offering not just knowledge, but real career outcomes.
Dr Krishna Ravi Srinivas, a professor at NALSAR, said the program is launching at a time when the legal profession and judiciary are actively exploring AI integration.
He believes it will serve as a valuable resource for both aspiring and practicing legal professionals. Enrollment is now open, and classes will commence in June 2025.
