The campaign will identify out of school girls through surveys and support them with study materials, mentoring, and open school enrollment to help them complete Classes 8, 10, and 12.

The Madhya Pradesh government is set to launch a statewide campaign aimed at bringing girls who have dropped out of school back into the education system.
The initiative, called “Saraswati Abhiyaan,” will be implemented by the Women and Child Development department under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will formally launch the campaign on March 10 at an event at the Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium in Bhopal, a government official said on March 6.
"This initiative will reconnect girls who have dropped out of school due to social, family, or economic reasons, making them self-reliant and empowered. The campaign will provide girls with the opportunity to appear for Class 8, 10, and 12 examinations through the State Open School system," the official said.
Under the program, identified girls will receive study material, academic guidance, contact classes, and mentoring support to help them complete their schooling and pursue further education or employment opportunities.
"According to the National Family Health Survey, a large number of girls in MP drop out of school before completing 8th, 10th, or 12th grade. Once they drop out, they are denied the opportunity to continue their education, leaving their education incomplete and limiting their future opportunities. This problem is more severe in rural and backward areas," the official said.
To address the issue, the campaign will begin with a survey to identify girls who have left school. Those identified will be enrolled in the State Open School system, where they will receive study materials, academic support, mentoring, and counseling to prepare for their examinations.
"Girls who pass the exams under the Abhiyan will be awarded certificates to encourage them to pursue further education. This initiative aims not only to connect girls to education but also to develop their self-confidence and self-esteem. It will play a vital role in increasing girl child education, reducing dropout rates, and accelerating women's empowerment," she said.
The official added that the campaign could also help curb social issues such as child marriage by encouraging girls to continue their education.
