The decision was taken after the submission of a list of 308 colleges categorised as suitable, insufficient, and unfit by the CBI following the investigation of the Madhya Pradesh Nursing College scam.

The Madhya Pradesh government ordered the shutdown of 66 nursing colleges spread over 31 districts as part of its strict action against the "unsuitable" category on May 28.
The Commissioner of Medical Education has given a list to the collectors with instructions to act according to the High Court's orders. The decision will not impact the existing students of these nursing colleges, and they will still be able to take their exams.
The MP High Court's division bench had earlier in February ordered the CBI to investigate each nursing college affiliated with the Madhya Pradesh Nursing Registration Council (MPNRC).
Investigating the Madhya Pradesh Nursing College Scam, the CBI appeared before the High Court on February 22 and presented a list of 308 colleges categorised as suitable, insufficient, and unfit.
