The collaboration will foster faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, and stronger ties between academia and industry, with the MoU focusing on enhancing research, education, and creating a joint working group to advance the partnership.
The Karnataka government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Liverpool on Friday to collaborate on research and innovation activities.
The government hailed the partnership as a significant step toward enhancing cooperation in education and research.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Industries Minister M B Patil, Higher Education Minister Dr M C Sudhakar, University of Liverpool Vice-Chancellor Tim Jones, and Pro Vice-Chancellor Tariq Ali.
According to the government, the MoU aims to strengthen research collaboration, enhance educational cooperation, and establish a joint working group to advance the partnership.
"The MoU aims to strengthen collaboration in research and innovation activities, education cooperation, and establish a joint working group to take the partnership forward," the government said.
Key UK dignitaries, including Janaka Pushpanathan, Director of the British Council Division at the British Deputy High Commission, and James Godber, Deputy Head of Mission, attended the ceremony.
