Candidates can apply through the JOAPS portal until Oct 12, while the entrance test will cover seven papers and be conducted in two sessions for postgraduate admissions.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has revised the registration schedule for the IIT Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027, with applications set to begin on Sept 12.
Candidates will be able to register until Oct 12 through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS), which will be activated on the application form release date.

Applicants will have to provide the required personal and academic details and upload the specified documents while completing the form.
IIT Kharagpur has also released the information brochure for IIT JAM 2027 on its official website, jam.iitkgp.ac.in.
As per the brochure, the entrance exam will be held on Feb 14 in computer-based test (CBT) mode for seven papers: Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH).
The exam will be conducted in two sessions. The forenoon session will take place from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm for Chemistry, Geology and Mathematics, while Biotechnology, Economics, Mathematical Statistics and Physics will be held in the afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
IIT Kharagpur is the organizing institute for JAM 2027. The examination will provide admission opportunities to around 3,000 postgraduate seats across 23 IITs for the 2027-28 academic year.
Candidates are advised to check the information brochure before applying for the examination. The document contains details about the syllabus, exam pattern, eligibility criteria and other admission-related requirements.
