IIT Hyderabad launches Applied AI certification program for working professionals

IIT Hyderabad will start its four-week Applied AI Professional Certification Programme for working professionals on Sept 19, with the Sept 2026 cohort running until Oct 17.

The program will be conducted in hybrid mode, with instructor-led sessions held on Saturdays. Participants can attend the sessions at the IIT Hyderabad campus or join them online.

The course will focus on developing practical skills to design, build, evaluate and deploy AI agent systems for real-world applications. Training will include instructor-led classes, guided online learning, assignments, mentor support and project work.

IIT Hyderabad said the program will follow a continuous “learn, apply and build” approach. Participants will work on one production-style AI agent application throughout the four-week course and apply the concepts covered at each stage.

The curriculum will cover AI engineering areas such as tool use, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), memory, orchestration, multi-agent systems, evaluation, observability, guardrails and deployment.

The course will end with project demonstrations and presentations, followed by feedback.

The lectures will be delivered by Dr Praveen Tammana, Dr Ashish Mishra and Dr Anupam Sanghi, faculty members of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Hyderabad, along with N V S S Koundinya, an AI Solution Architect.

Participants who complete the prescribed assignments, assessments and other program requirements will receive an IIT Hyderabad Professional Certificate.
