The 20-week certificate program equips mid- and senior-level professionals with storytelling skills, AI-based techniques, and global case studies to strengthen communication, leadership influence, decision-making, and cultural inclusivity.
Indian Institute of Management Calcutta has introduced a new 20-week certificate course, “Mastering Storytelling for Leadership Communication and Influence,” aimed at mid- and senior-level professionals across strategic fields.
Applications for the program are open until Aug 20, with classes scheduled to begin on Sept 30. Participants will be required to devote four to six hours weekly to the online course.
The curriculum blends pre-recorded lectures from IIM Calcutta faculty, a live faculty session, four expert-led masterclasses, and case studies from brands such as Nike, Dabur, and Netflix.
It also includes a capstone project and peer discussions designed to build practical storytelling skills.
The program is open to graduates and diploma holders in any discipline, as well as postgraduates.
The fee is ₹150,000 plus GST, and applications can be submitted through iimcalcutta.emeritus.org.
“Storytelling can shape strategy, build inclusive cultures, and create trust across diverse stakeholder groups. At IIM Calcutta, this program is designed to help leaders simplify complexity and build powerful narratives that connect, inspire, and move people to action,” said Nandita Roy, assistant professor in the business ethics and communication group at IIM Calcutta.
According to the institute, participants will learn to apply frameworks such as Freytag’s Pyramid and the Monomyth, explore AI-powered data-driven storytelling, and strengthen skills in branding, business communication, and public speaking.
Those who complete the program with at least 65% marks will be awarded a certificate from IIM Calcutta.
